Martial Arts For Children Benefits

The movements incorporated into martial arts help children develop their motor skills, balance and co ordination. This greatly reduces the risk of injury as they increase muscle strength and become more aware of how their body moves.

Many kids struggle with the pressure of having to compete with other kids in team sports. Traditionally sports like football and rugby, may not appeal to them. Martial arts for children focuses on self-improvement, development as an individual.

Discipline is a key element taught in all forms of martial arts. Kids must stay focused to learn new techniques and are awarded with gradings, helping your child to stay focused.

Learning a new martial art technique takes focus, discipline and effort. Once accomplished an increase in confidence can be seen as your child feels a sense of achievement.

Participating in activity that increases muscle strength, flexibility, co-ordination and balance, helps to create body awareness. Your child can feel awkward and clumsy at times in their early development due to changes in their body’s. Having a sport or activity like martial arts assists in the transition from child to adult.

Good friends provide us with vital social and emotional support from childhood through adulthood. It takes practice to learn how to be a good friend, practice at being kind, supportive, trustworthy and a good listener. These are skills kids can begin to learn at an early age.

We Also Have Wrestling Classes For Children From Age 6

My son has been taking part in the children’s wrestling classes since they started in April, and he loves it! The classes have been brilliant. I have also seen great improvements in his ability to manage his own behaviour, and in his self confidence.

Frazer has attended the kids wrestling from the start, back in April. He has really enjoyed this new experience and I have seen a massive improvement in his own personal development. His level of self confidence and self esteem has greatly improved, highly recommended.

My son has been attending classes here for the last couple of months and absolutely loves it. They have amazing coaches that teach them so much without them even realising it. He loves every moment of his wrestling classes at Chum Sut Lisburn.
